HBU Set to Compete in NCAA Austin Regional

first_imgHOUSTON – HBU Women’s golf embarks on its second consecutive NCAA Regional this time to Austin, Texas at the University of Texas Golf Club Monday, May 7 through Wednesday, May 9.The Huskies earned the automatic bid by winning the Southland Conference Championship title with junior Kaity Cummings, who shot 7-over par 220 to claim the individual title. Junior Lexi Brook tied for fifth with with 12-over par 225, while sophomore Alisa Chong finished eight with 14-over par 227 and freshman Sara Zrnikova finished ninth with 15-over par 228. Sophomore Caylee Senn finished tied for 35th with 31-over par 244.The top five seeds participating in the NCAA Austin Regional Arkansas, Texas, Michigan State, Florida and Auburn. The rest of the field for this 18-team tournament include Oklahoma, Houston, Miami, Baylor, Texas A&M, BYU, East Carolina, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, UTSA, Georgetown, and Missouri State. Individuals from SMU, Maryland, TCU and Colorado State.The top-six teams from each of the four regional tournaments will advance to the championships finale held May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, hosted by Oklahoma State.last_img read more
