Okeechobee Announces Snoop Dogg PoWoW! Lineup Featuring The Roots, Chaka Khan, & More

first_imgToday, the upcoming third annual Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival annouced the highly anticipated lineup for the event’s annual all-star jam session, dubbed the “PowWoW!” In addition to the session’s previously announced maestro–the one and only Snoop (Doggy) Dogg, this year’s Okeechobee PoWoW! will be held down throughout by the best backing band in the business, the legendary Roots crew.A long list of artists from the worlds hip-hop, funk, soul, and beyond will join Snoop and The Roots onstage throughout the jam, including the “Queen of Funk,” Chaka Khan​. Rounding out the stacked PoWoW! lineup will be young hip-hop superstar Joey Bada$$​, Big Gigantic saxophonist Dominic Lalli​, exceptionally talented New Orleans’ multi-instrumentalist Trombone Shorty​, and organ guru Cory Henry (formerly of Snarky Puppy)​. Of course, as is customary for the Okeechobee PoWoW!, additional surprise guests are sure to make appearances during the set as well.Last year’s collaboration with Solange, Michael McDonald, Gallant, Griz, Allen Stone, Vulfpeck, Eric Krasno, members of Lawrence & more reimagined McDonald and Kenny Loggins‘ hit “What A Fool Believes” and much more.
