Swedish House Mafia Reunites After 5 Years For Surprise Set At Ultra 2018 [Full Show Video]

first_img[Video: Breathe Paradise] On Sunday, March 25th, at around 10 p.m., Swedish House Mafia surprised fans at Ultra Music Festival in Miami by reuniting for the first time in five years. The house music supergroup composed of Axwell, Steve Angello, and Sebastian Ingrosso was not advertised as being on the bill (Axwell /\ Ingrosso was), though for months people have speculated that the group might reunite in celebration of the legendary EDM festival’s 20th anniversary. The reunion landed nearly five years to the day after the group’s final farewell tour performance, which also took place at Ultra Music Festival. The trio’s festival-closing set ran for around fifty minutes and included a number of the group’s popular hits including “Miami 2 Ibiza”, “Save the World”, “Greyhound, and “One”. As noted by Billboard, “The famous trio emerged from the darkness after a 30-minute production break. “I am Axwell, I am Sebastian Ingrosso, and I am Steve Angello,” they said into the mics, “and Miami, tonight we go by Swedish House Mafia.”When asked why they chose this moment to reunite, they simply said ‘it was time.’” However, what the future holds for Swedish House Mafia is somewhat unclear, given that the group’s future plans are still hazy—despite this, during the show at Ultra, Axwell boldly declared that the performance wasn’t a one-off incident but rather “This time, it’s for life.” Swedish House Mafia At Ultra Music Festival 2018last_img
